The Role: Test Engineer – SEMI F47 Compliance (Semiconductor Equipment), Alameda, California
We are seeking a hands-on Test Engineer to support electrical compliance and qualification of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, with a focus on SEMI F47 voltage sag immunity. This role is ideal for graduate-level electrical engineers interested in power quality, industrial systems, and real-world validation of complex equipment.In addition to lab-based testing, this role offers direct exposure to customer applications. You will provide technical support by troubleshooting and resolving issues related to power quality equipment and systems, helping customers understand and overcome real-world challenges. Responsibilities include validating product performance, delivering clear and actionable guidance for technical inquiries, and implementing effective solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.You will develop deep expertise in our products and apply that knowledge to educate customers, diagnose complex electrical issues, and drive meaningful improvements. This role blends engineering rigor with customer impact—ideal for someone who wants to see their work directly influence product performance and customer success.
Responsibilities
- Support qualification of semiconductor tools through structured compliance testing, engineering analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Apply industry standards including SEMI F47, SEMI E6, SEMI S23, IEC 61000-4-11/34, and IEEE 519 to evaluate electrical performance and power quality behavior.
- Conduct voltage sag immunity testing, electrical characterization, and data analysis to verify system robustness under disturbed power condition.
- Perform root-cause investigations and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve electrical and compliance-related issues.•Generate detailed engineering reports, compliance records, and customer-facing technical summaries.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose customer technical issues and respond to emails in an accurate and timely manner.
- Analyze power quality and energy measurements to provide our partners and customers with solutions and recommendations.
- Maintain and update customer cases in Salesforce Service Cloud CRM and Jira bug tracking ticketing system(Log, Open and Close tickets to resolution).
- Perform hardware and software testing to duplicate customer issues.
- Work closely with our engineers to investigate and resolve customer issues.
- Assist with the composition and implementation of technical documentation and training.
- Perform other customer-related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- B.S or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience.
- Understanding of AC/DC power systems, power electronics, and/or industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with power quality concepts (voltage sags, harmonics, transients).
- Exposure to compliance standards such as SEMI, IEC, or IEEE is a plus.
- Experience with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, data acquisition systems).
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and technical communication skills.
- Travel is required.
