“The Black Students Union serves as a resource to foster the social, political, cultural and intellectual development of Black students at Amherst College. The BSU seeks to engage all students who are dedicated to the above-stated mission. In fulfilling our objectives, we remain cognizant of and loyal to the seven principles of Kwanzaa. That is, to act in unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, co-operative economics, creativity, purpose, and faith in all that we do.”
