Witness to Mass Incarceration (WITNESS) is seeking a filmmaking/editing intern to assist in working on the WITNESS Digital Library to make short films and videos about incarcerated people, formerly incarcerated people, and mass incarceration. The WITNESS Digital Library has interviews of life before, during, and after incarceration for formerly incarcerated individuals, and we are looking for a talented individual to comb through complex narratives to find and capture engaging, impactful moments/stories in the short films and features they produce. We pride ourselves in our interviews and on pursuing these unique, compelling stories for a wide audience.
Internships are available in the fall, winter, spring, and summer semesters.
This internship will run through the fall semester, with the option to extend into the spring semester. Because this is an unpaid internship, Witness to Mass Incarceration is happy to provide recommendations or references for all interns. In terms of internship credit, some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.
Internships are available in the fall, winter, spring, and summer semesters.
