Position Summary

Our Team at Youth for a Better Future (YBF) is seeking enthusiastic and dependable Summer Interns to support campers ages 6–16 in both academic enrichment and creative arts activities. Interns will help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment while assisting instructors with daily camp operations, educational activities, and creative programming for our Academic Summer Arts Camp.

Responsibilities

  • Assist campers with reading, writing, and math activities
  • Support hands-on creative sessions such as poetry, spoken word, music, podcasting, and performance arts
  • Help supervise students during group activities and field trips
  • Encourage teamwork, participation, and positive behavior
  • Prepare and organize activity materials and classroom spaces
  • Provide one-on-one encouragement and academic support when needed
  • Assist camp staff with attendance, setup, cleanup, and daily operations
  • Serve as a positive role model for youth participants

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for working with children and youth development
  • Interest in education, arts, psychology, social work, or related fields preferred
  • Responsible, patient, and energetic attitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment
  • Previous experience with children is preferred

Ideal Candidates

We are looking for college students (Education, Psychology, Social Work, Early Childhood, Performing Arts/Theater, Music, Communication, and English Majors are all preferred), recent graduates, or motivated high school upperclassmen interested in education, child development, community engagement, or the arts.
