Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Pay: $18.50-$20.00/hour

About the Role

We’re seeking a Community Impact & Outreach Coordinator to lead and manage our on-the-ground outreach initiatives. This position is perfect for someone with strong organizational skills, a passion for connecting with people, and the ability to keep multiple moving parts in sync.

You’ll coordinate street-level outreach, petition circulation, and event engagement for a range of clients including community organizations, corporations, political campaigns, and grassroots initiatives.

What You’ll Do

– Manage Outreach Team: Supervise and schedule outreach associates and interns.

– Plan & Execute Campaigns: Coordinate street canvassing, event tabling, and petition circulation.

– Build Relationships: Act as the primary contact for community partners, neighborhood leaders, and client representatives.

– Track Progress: Maintain outreach reports, signature counts, and contact logs.

– Event Coordination: Organize and support community events, pop-ups, and corporate activations.

– Training & Onboarding: Train new team members on outreach best practices and community engagement etiquette.

The Perfect Candidate

This role is ideal for someone who’s equal parts leader and doer — you can manage a team in the field while also jumping in to talk to residents, coordinate with partners, and deliver results.

Majors that are a strong fit include:

– Political Science / Public Policy

– Marketing / Communications / Public Relations

– Urban Studies / Community Development

– Sociology / Social Work

– Nonprofit Management

– Event Planning / Hospitality Management

What We’re Looking For

– At least 1–2 years of experience in outreach, canvassing, or community engagement (paid or volunteer).

– Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage others.

– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

– Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

– Comfortable working in diverse neighborhoods and environments.

– Must be 18 – 24 years old.

Why Join Us?

– Lead meaningful community engagement projects across Chicago.

– Work with diverse partners from grassroots to corporate levels.

– Gain leadership experience in project coordination and field operations.

– Flexible scheduling with a mix of in-field and administrative work.

Schedule & Pay

• 20 hours/week at $18.50-$20.00 per hour
• Flexible schedule; some evenings and weekends required for events.
