About the Role

Taste of the Caribbean LA is seeking a creative, organized, and results-driven Social Media Manager and Content Creator to develop content that increases brand awareness, customer engagement, restaurant reservations, and event attendance.

This person should understand food, beverage, hospitality, nightlife, and Los Angeles culture. The ideal candidate can identify strong content opportunities, film high-quality short-form videos, develop creative campaign ideas, manage a consistent posting schedule, and measure whether the content is producing actual business results.

This is not a position for someone who only reposts flyers or follows trends without a strategy. We are looking for someone who can capture the energy of the restaurant and turn it into content that drives customers through the door.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage a monthly social media content calendar.

Produce original content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and other relevant platforms.

Film food, cocktails, staff, customers, events, DJs, brunches, happy hours, catering, and behind-the-scenes restaurant content.

Edit short-form videos, reels, stories, photographs, and promotional content.

Create strong hooks, captions, calls to action, and content concepts.

Attend scheduled restaurant events and service periods to capture content.

Develop recurring content series that strengthen the restaurant’s identity and brand recognition.

Promote weekly events, menu items, specials, catering services, and restaurant experiences.

Collaborate with ownership, management, chefs, bartenders, DJs, promoters, and staff.

Schedule and publish content consistently across social media platforms.

Monitor comments, direct messages, tags, reviews, and customer engagement.

Respond to appropriate audience interactions in the restaurant’s brand voice.

Research current food, beverage, nightlife, hospitality, and social media trends.

Identify local influencers, creators, community partners, and potential collaborations.

Review social media analytics and provide a monthly performance report.

Track metrics such as reach, engagement, follower growth, reservations, website clicks, event RSVPs, online orders, and catering inquiries.

Recommend improvements based on performance data.

Maintain an organized library of raw footage, edited content, photographs, captions, and brand assets.

Required Skills

Strong short-form video production and editing skills.

Experience filming food, beverages, restaurants, hospitality, nightlife, or lifestyle content.

Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, TikTok, Stories, and YouTube Shorts.

Ability to shoot clear, well-lit content using a smartphone or professional camera.

Proficiency with editing platforms such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva, or similar software.

Strong writing skills for captions, hooks, promotional copy, and calls to action.

Understanding of social media trends, algorithms, hashtags, posting formats, and audience engagement.

Ability to develop ideas independently instead of waiting for constant direction.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a consistent posting schedule.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant and nightlife environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance reporting.

Minimum Requirements

At least one year of experience creating or managing social media content for a business, brand, restaurant, hospitality company, or personal client.

A portfolio containing food, beverage, restaurant, hospitality, nightlife, or lifestyle content.

Ability to provide at least three examples of short-form videos personally filmed and edited.

Reliable transportation and the ability to work on-site in Los Angeles.

Availability during selected evenings, weekends, brunches, and restaurant events.

Access to a reliable smartphone, camera, laptop, and editing software.

Ability to deliver edited content within agreed-upon deadlines.

Professional, dependable, punctual, and comfortable interacting with customers and staff.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of social media management or content-production experience.

Previous experience working with restaurants, bars, hotels, catering companies, nightlife venues, or food brands.

Experience developing campaigns that increased reservations, sales, event attendance, website traffic, or customer engagement.

Food photography or videography experience.

Graphic design experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience with Meta Business Suite, TikTok Business, Google Drive, scheduling platforms, and analytics dashboards.

Knowledge of Caribbean food, music, culture, nightlife, or entertainment.

Existing relationships with Los Angeles food creators, influencers, DJs, media outlets, or community organizations.

Experience with paid social media advertising is a plus.

Expected Deliverables

Final deliverables will be confirmed based on compensation and schedule but may include:

Two on-site content sessions per week.

Three to five edited short-form videos per week.

Daily or scheduled Instagram Story content.

Professional photos of food, cocktails, events, and restaurant experiences.

A monthly content calendar.

Captions, hashtags, hooks, and calls to action.

Weekly event and promotion coverage.

One monthly analytics and performance report.

New campaign and growth ideas each month.

Organized delivery of raw and edited content files.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by more than follower growth. Performance will also be evaluated based on:

Content quality and consistency.

On-time delivery.

Engagement and audience growth.

Reservation and event-RSVP activity.

Website and ordering-platform traffic.

Customer-generated content and brand mentions.

Ability to generate and execute new ideas.

Professionalism, communication, and reliability.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

A résumé or brief professional background.

A portfolio or social media page showing relevant work.

At least three short-form videos they personally filmed and edited.

A brief explanation of their role in each submitted project.

Their availability.

Their hourly rate or monthly retainer.

A short description of how they would improve Taste of the Caribbean LA’s social media presence.

Applications without relevant work samples will not be considered.
