We’re hiring for a Social Media Manager role!

Location: New York City, mix of remote and in-person
Hours: 10–15 hours/week, with opportunity to grow

Somewhere Else Studios is a boutique communications agency working with design-forward hospitality, lifestyle, and founder-led brands on social media strategy, content creation, and PR campaigns. We’re a small, taste-driven team that moves fast, holds our work to a high standard, and partners with brands we truly care about. We are looking for a part-time junior team member to join our team and grow with us.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who loves social media, has a strong aesthetic eye, and knows how to get things done without being micromanaged. You’ll work directly with our founder across a range of various client accounts and projects. This includes managing content calendars, creating and editing content, scheduling and posting content, and more. This role is right for you if you have hands-on experience creating content, working across social platforms, can bring fresh creative ideas to the table, and you are a proactive and dependable person.

Content Creation + Design

  • Build graphics, carousels, and story sets in Canva
  • Edit short-form video (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) using CapCut
  • Curate and organize photography assets
  • Assist with on-site content capture at shoots and activations in NYC with potential travel

Social Media Execution

  • Schedule and post content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest
  • Repurpose content across platforms
  • Copywriting (without copying and pasting from AI)
  • Assist with content calendars and monthly analytical reports

Community Management

  • Respond to comments and DMs using brand voice guidelines
  • Assist with outbound engagement on target accounts

Admin

  • Can work seamlessly across multiple accounts
  • Keep Notion pipelines, content calendars, and task lists updated
  • Organize and maintain Google Drive folder structure across all client accounts
  • Assist with affiliate link management and basic tracking across platforms
  • Support day-to-day agency operations as needed

What We’re Looking For

Must Have:

  • 1–2 years of experience in social media, content creation, or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook: you understand how these platforms work, not just how to post on them
  • Proficiency in Canva
  • Social media video editing skills
  • Strong aesthetic and eye for design
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to take clear direction and execute independently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Extremely trustworthy
  • Based in New York City: mix of remote and in-person work

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hospitality, lifestyle, or design-forward brands
  • YouTube editing experience — thumbnails, chapters, SEO titles, long-form editing
  • Graphic design experience
  • Familiarity with LTK or other affiliate platforms
  • Knowledge of Notion
  • Film photography interest or experience

How to Apply

To be considered, please email the following to taylor@somewhereelsestudios.com:

  • A brief intro: who you are, where you’re based (must be based in NYC), and why this role is the right fit
  • 3 examples of your work: social content you’ve created, accounts you’ve managed, videos you’ve edited, etc
  • Your resume
  • Your availability (and if you currently work for any other agencies or brands, please let us know this)

We will be in touch with next steps if you are a good fit!
