Skyhawks Sports Academy is a leading provider of youth sports programs dedicated to inspiring and empowering children through physical activity and sports education. Our mission is to teach essential life skills through sports, helping young participants build confidence, teamwork, leadership, and resilience both on and off the field. Through a wide range of engaging sports camps and programs, Skyhawks serves children in communities across the country, providing meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, stay active, and have fun.

Position Summary:

Skyhawks Sports Academy is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Sports Management Interns to support youth sports programs for children ages 5–14. This internship is ideal for students pursuing sports management, education, or related fields who are eager to gain hands-on experience while making a positive impact on children’s lives. Interns assist with coaching sports camps, planning and executing programs, managing rosters, coordinating with partners, handling equipment, and supporting daily operations. In addition, interns complete a high-impact project focused on improving business operations, gaining valuable professional experience and insight into the sports industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively coach children between the ages of 2-14 years in various sports camps. Provide clear instruction, ensure a safe environment, and inspire a love for sports and physical activity.
  • Learn how to effectively plan and operate a youth sports camp, including lesson plans, equipment, coordination, and implementation.
  • Contribute to business improvements by developing new ideas, enhancing curriculum, or improving customer experiences through a summer project.
  • Capture and share live content from camps on social media, create promotional flyers, and potentially focus your project on marketing.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in Early Education, Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field at an accredited university.
  • Passion for sports and coaching, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills interacting with clients and participants.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to various camp locations.
  • Available to work late mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be able to attend daytime training from June 3-5
  • Preferred: Prior experience in coaching and/or childcare.

Pay: $15-19/hr

Expected hours: 12 – 30 per week

Schedule:

  • Weekdays (often Monday-Thursday)
  • Morning programs (8:30am-12:30pm)
  • Afternoon programs (12:30pm-4pm)
  • Evening programs (4:30-7:30pm)

Work Location(s): In Person at various locations throughout the Twin Cities Metro.

*We will schedule you within a maximum 30-mile drive from your home. Most camps are held at elementary, middle, high schools, and parks*

Position timeline: June-August 2026

Applicants must either currently reside in Minnesota or be willing to relocate to Minnesota for the duration of the position.
