Platonic Love is a beloved newsletter at the intersection of culture, creativity, and community — and we’re looking for a Marketing Intern who’s excited to grow with us. If you’re exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, creative, and love writing, this role is for you. This position is especially well-suited to someone who wants hands-on experience in publishing, affiliate marketing, and newsletter/community marketing.

This is a flexible, part-time role (8–10 hours per week) that can fit around a school schedule or another job. Ideally, you’re in the Boston/Cambridge area so we can meet up in person occasionally, but remote candidates are welcome to apply. We’re especially interested in someone who wants to stay with us long-term and grow your responsibilities with the business.

What You’ll Do

✍️ Publishing & Graphic Design (Primary Focus)

  • Upload, format, and schedule articles to Substack twice a week
  • Create Canva graphics for articles, Substack Notes, and Pinterest
  • Maintain visual consistency and help evolve our brand identity across channels

🎨 Brand & Affiliate Partnerships

  • Represent Platonic Love via external stakeholder communications and coordination
  • Manage affiliate partnerships, including ShopMy opportunities, product features, and coordinated mentions across platforms
  • Track partnership performance, payments, and follow-up needs
  • Maintain a partnership calendar to ensure placements are timely, strategic, and high-quality
  • Support brand outreach strategies and identify new revenue opportunities

⭐ Special Projects & Guest Collaborations

  • Manage editorial deadlines for a potential book
  • Help us set deadlines leading up to publication and stay on track
  • Coordinate any external contributions and ensure timely delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Organized, reliable, and proactive — you manage your own checklist well
  • Someone who loves connecting with people and building relationships and is comfortable coordinating with partners and brands / representing Platonic Love externally
  • Strong written communication and editing skills
  • Experience editing and building graphics from scratch with Canva
  • Familiarity with Substack, Asana, and ShopMy (or a willingness to learn quickly)
  • Interest in newsletters, influencer marketing, PR, content creation, or media
  • Excitement about growing into a bigger role over time as we scale

To Apply:
Send us a short note about why this role excites you, any relevant experience (formal or informal!), and a sample of work — design, writing, outreach, social content, or anything that reflects your strengths.

Location: Remote-friendly, with preference for Boston/Cambridge-based candidates

Compensation: $17 (with opportunity to increase over time)

** Eligible for academic / course credit subject to school approval **
