The Associate Consultant Role

OC&C is recruiting for the Associate Consultant position in our New York and Boston offices. The primary role of an Associate Consultant is to support the delivery of strategic advice to clients through the preparation and delivery of analytic modules as an active member of the engagement team. Associate Consultants work in collaboration with and receive support from all levels of the engagement team. OC&C project work will include a variety of data gathering and analysis assignments, as well as interpretation and presentation of findings. Compensation for the Associate Consultant position is competitive with top tier consulting firms.

Our US practice is looking for candidates with the highest level of communication and analytical skills. They will be able to demonstrate excellence in the following areas:

1. Problem solving: independently develop solutions to a broad range of problems using analytical, quantitative, intellectual, and creative approaches.

2. Written communication: create clear and concise written and graphical work for use in team settings.

3. Personal impact and oral communication: present independent work confidently and dynamically in both internal and client-facing settings.

4. Job management/Teamwork: participate in teams in a collegial and collaborative manner; carry out fair share of work; consistently add creative, insightful ideas; meet all deadlines; demonstrate ability to lead and motivate others well.

5. Client relations & professionalism: conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times and contribute to clients’ positive view of OC&C in general and the team in particular.

6. Firm contribution: play an enthusiastic role in developing the Firm’s earned reputation for high caliber client work and in establishing the personality of the Firm and the Office.

The ideal candidate will have an intuitive analytical mind and strong numeracy. Through their extra-curricular or academic activities they will be able to demonstrate strong teamwork skills and be able to communicate very effectively in both written and oral settings.

As a rapidly growing office, we require candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to engage in all levels of firm development. New hires will be expected to immediately contribute to project work and also be intimately involved in firm development initiatives such as recruiting and client development.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

1st Round Interviews – 2 x 30-minute virtual case study interviews
2nd Round Interviews – 2 x 45-minute in-person or virtual case study interviews with Associate Partners & Partners
