MUSEUM OPERATIONS INTERN

The National Comedy Center is currently seeking candidates for its 2026 internship program. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at an award-winning non-profit cultural institution and national destination. The state-of-the-art National Comedy Center was recently named the “Best New Museum” in the country by USA Today and one of the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine.

The Museum Operations Intern will support the daily operations of the National Comedy Center and Lucy Desi Museum assisting staff and helping to ensure exceptional guest experience.

This internship is on-site in Jamestown, NY, for the Summer 2026 season with the potential for extension beyond the summer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with day-to-day activities in the Lucy Desi Museum and the National Comedy Center.
  • Assist with Food and Beverage areas, inventory control, and work with vendors.
  • Assist with overseeing and implementing Block Party programs (handling the overall organization of beverage tents, outside vendors, crowd control, and entertainment).

REQUIREMENTS

  • This internship is ideal for students majoring in Business Management, Accounting, Hospitality, and Marketing/Communications.
  • Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week; hours are flexible.
  • All interns must complete at least 4 hours per week on the museum floor to learn attraction operations, interact with visitors, and increase comedy knowledge.
  • Hours may increase to full-time during the week before and the week of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August; schedules can be arranged with a supervisor.
  • Interns will use their personal laptops during the internship; alternate arrangements can be discussed upon acceptance.

TO APPLY

To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter to internships@comedycenter.org. Virtual interviews are available for students unable to interview in Jamestown.
