DURATION: Sept. 14 to Nov. 21

NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK (MON. – FRI.): 10-12

HOURLY RATE: $16/hour

LOCATION TYPE: In-person with remote flexibility as needed

INTENDED LEARNING AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS:

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of the Meals on Wheels brand on a national and local level
  • Gain experience with telling the Meals on Wheels story through blogs, press materials, videos, social media or photography, depending on individual skill set and area of study
  • Gain experience with cross-department collaboration, including development, fundraising, volunteer engagement, events and partnerships
  • Engage in regular meetings with the Director of Marketing & Communications and occasional meetings with the advancement team
  • Develop firsthand insights about Meals on Wheels impact by observing and/or participating in services that benefit older adults in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, journalism, PR, English/creative writing, film and video production, or related field
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with prior direction
  • Interest in nonprofit, community engagement and/or public-sector work
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Canva and/or Adobe products

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a reliable form of transportation to Meals on Wheels main office in South Fairmount/Price Hill, Cincinnati
  • Must be available to work in person during regular office hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (if remote work is needed, must have reliable access to a computer and internet connection)
  • Must be able to attend annual Bust-a-Crust pie fundraiser volunteer event on Saturday, Nov. 21, in Cincinnati
  • Must pass a criminal background check and drug/alcohol/marijuana/THC screening
