Position: House of Shine Intern

Duration: Varied

Hours: 25/ hours a week with seasonal fluctuations

Compensation: $1,000 monthly stipend (dependent on hours)

Organization Overview: House of Shine is a leadership development nonprofit. Our mission is to strengthen communities by growing confident, self-aware and resilient leaders that are equipped with a deep understanding of themselves and why their contributions to the world matter. Through our interactive self-discovery museum, experiential curriculum, personal development and community-building programs, we empower leaders to uncover their SHINE—the Strengths, Hobbies, Interests & Irritants, Needs, and Experiences that make each of us unique.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student or young professional to join our House of Shine Team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the planning and execution of our Signature and Specialty programs (SHINE U, YAY Day, Artisan Market, Change Bowl, and Leadership Institute), along with supporting daily museum operations. Additional opportunities to enhance our core programs and serve on the programming team may evolve with time.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to hospitality management, event management, non-profit management, education, curriculum, museum studies, psychology/sociology or a related field.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient project management skills and creative thinker
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite and comfortable learning new software platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of Signature and Specialty programs.
  • Support daily & museum operations and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the successful delivery of events and workshops.
  • Assist with connections within Grapevine, Colleyville, Southlake and surrounding communities.
  • Help create and organize program materials, curriculum and resources.
  • Engage with participants and provide excellent customer service.
  • Facilitate workshops, field trips and exhibit tours.
  • Assist with rotating Saturday Museum schedule.
