Grace Church Special Needs Intern

Internship Program:

A Grace Church Internship is for those who have completed one year of college or its equivalent. Within a specific area of ministry, interns will be given ministry responsibilities, receive weekly coaching from their supervisor, and leadership development from the Senior Pastor and others.   • Program Dates: 11-Week Internship, Tuesday May 26, 2026 – Sunday August 9, 2026
  • Hourly Rate: $12/hour; Paid Bi-Weekly
  • Schedule:  Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Wednesday 10:30 AM – 8:45 PM, Sunday 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM; and Ministry Special Events

Job Summary:

Grace Special Needs believes God created everyone on purpose and with purpose, and that everyone can have a meaningful relationship with Jesus. In this role, you’ll get to take part in ministering to individuals with special needs and disabilities of all ages, from birth through adulthood. You’ll see how campus support operates at a multi-campus church, be hands-on during services, help support summer programming, and help write curriculum for students and adults with disabilities. If you’re excited about working creatively to include our friends with special needs as vital members of our church family, then this is the internship for you! We will be hiring one intern to serve on our campus support team.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Understand the heart and why of Grace Special Needs and what drives our decisions and programming
  • Write curriculum for one or more Grace Students/Adults Class series, adapting message topics for special needs grace group
  • Rotate weekends between each Grace Church campus, initially shadowing but eventually directing services
  • Understand how Grace Special Needs is integrated with other ministries at Grace Church
  • Direct Grace Special Needs at Grace Students at one campus throughout the
  • summer
  • Help facilitate the buddy teams for Summer Break Out and other ministry special events
  • Plan and lead a project
  • Obtain knowledge of a multisite campus and how collaboration plays a big role
  • Learn how to recruit, train, and schedule volunteers

Skills/Experience:

  • High School Diploma and at least one year of college or its equivalent
  • Volunteer experience in kid’s ministry
  • Experience and passion for church and the community
  • Motivated to learn and lead
  • Great relational skills: full of faith, friendly, calm, and professional
  • Exhibit a heart of passion, humility, and integrity
  • Very good organizational and administrative skills
  • Skilled in researching and finding requested information

  • Ensure good stewardship of ministry funds and resources
  • Act as a positive representative of Grace Church at all times
