Brilliant Pathways is seeking an energetic, agile, and mission-driven leader to join our team as a College & Career Readiness Director. This is a role for a dynamic self-starter eager to work directly with students, educators, and community partners to ignite change in the life trajectories of young people and ensure that students are exposed to mentorship, skill development and create a postsecondary pathway plan.

Key Responsibilities

As a director, you are the catalyst who drives the implementation and expansion of the Brilliant Pathways framework in our partner schools. You will be responsible for turning our mission into measurable results on the ground, specifically focused on three pillars:

  • Fostering Mentorship: Design, implement, and support best practices for peer and adult mentorship programs that provide students with guidance and real-world connection.
  • Building Essential Skills: Work directly with school teams to embed our six Essential Skills, helping students develop the human competencies and skills needed to thrive in an evolving workforce.
  • Expanding Pathway Knowledge: Facilitate engaging sessions and create tools that expose students to multiple postsecondary pathways, as well as emerging and high-growth career paths, ensuring every student has a clear plan for their future.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Previous experience working with students.
  • A bachelor’s degree.

Skills & Competencies:

We are looking for someone who demonstrates a unique blend of passion, inspiration, and mobility:

  • Agility: You embrace new technologies, adapt rapidly to changing needs, and are comfortable moving between strategic planning in the office and hands-on programming in a school setting.
  • Networker: You are an enthusiastic and effective communicator who can connect with diverse audiences, from students of all ages to superintendents, as well as Brilliant Pathways team members.
  • Travel-Ready: You are highly independent and excited by the prospect of frequent travel to our partner schools. You are committed to building a strong foundation, which will require a frequent presence in our Essex, NY office during the initial onboarding period. Long-term accommodations and/or housing in Essex, NY are available, as needed.
  • Direct-Services: You can distill complex program strategies into simple, clear, and compelling messages for diverse audiences (e.g., presentations, training workshops, symposia, etc.)
  • Administrative: You are prepared to contribute to aspects of the organization that would include but are not limited to regular communication, distribution of information, scheduling, fielding questions, social media, resource development, and special projects as they arise.

To Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter detailing your interest, and why you believe you are a good fit to advance the mission of Brilliant Pathways.
