Job Overview
- We are accepting resumes for summer internships to work with Construction Safety. This is an in-person position with no hybrid or remote work option. You will work out of our corporate headquarters in Maple Grove and on project worksites throughout the Twin Cities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist Safety Coordinators with field activities.
- Document safety inspections and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Build relationships, communicate and promote safety practices with field employees, project owners, design partners, and subcontractors.
- Maintain adequate inventory of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to meet company and project requirements.
- Understand and assist with promotion of company safety policies and practices.
- Assist in safety data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate with Operations Team in promoting safe worksite practices and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Junior or Senior within a 4-year degree program, preferably in Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent combination of training and related experience.
- Interest and knowledge of the heavy highway construction industry.
- Desire to gain hands-on experience in the office and/or field by shadowing with knowledgeable professionals.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Demonstrated ability to use software programs including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of and compliance with all Company safety requirements, policies, and any required safety training.
