BSAC Tutor/Mentor works under the supervision of the Programs Manager. The Tutor/Mentor is responsible for providing academic assistance at 1 set elementary or middle school in the following subjects: Math, Lab Sciences, Language Arts/English, Social Sciences, LOTE English (Spanish, French, etc.). The Tutor/Mentor is also responsible for mentoring 5 middle students who are currently participating in Breakthroughs Year-round programming. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Provide skill building/homework assistance to students who participate in the after-school tutoring program at various middle and high schools in the greater Sacramento area.
2. Co-manage the after-school tutoring site: resolve site management issues that may arise, work effectively and efficiently with co-workers to maintain a good studying environment (Virtually and In Person).
4. Make weekly phone calls to tutees/mentees to stay aware of their academic progress.
5. Attend weekly check-in meeting with Program Manager.
6. Maintaining a record of students served and services provided monthly.
