We’re hiring a Social Media + Community Engagement Intern!

BeautyMatter is a leading B2B media and intelligence platform at the intersection of beauty, business, and culture. We help industry leaders navigate the forces shaping the global beauty and wellness landscape through thoughtful content, community, and connection.

We’re looking for a Social Media and Community Engagement Intern who is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about digital storytelling. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience creating content across platforms and contributing to a visually driven brand in a fast-paced media environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and produce social-first content, including graphics, short-form video, and motion assets using Photoshop, Illustrator, CapCut, and other creative tools
  • Edit video content for social platforms (Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, YouTube, and web), including interviews, event coverage, podcasts, and promotional content
  • Maintain visual consistency with BeautyMatter’s brand across all creative assets while staying current on design trends, video formats, and platform best practices
  • Support real-time content creation and rapid-turnaround projects for editorial, events, and social media initiatives
  • Assist with day-to-day community management across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and other social platforms by monitoring and responding to comments, direct messages, and audience interactions.
  • Identify opportunities for community engagement by engaging with followers, creators, brands, and industry professionals while monitoring conversations, user-generated content, and emerging social trends to inform future content and strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current college senior or recent graduate with a degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Portfolio showcasing social content, video editing, graphic design, and/or motion graphics
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and CapCut
  • Strong Understanding of major social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube, and an understanding of platform best practices
  • Interest in community engagement, with the ability to communicate professionally through comments, direct messages, and other audience interactions
  • Creative eye for design, visual storytelling, and developing engaging social-first content while maintaining brand consistency
  • Experience editing short-form video and creating social-first content
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
