Job Title: Junior Project Manager

Reports to: Director of Operations

Office Location: Main Office with travel to field typically 20%

Summary

The Junior Project Manager shows initiative and supports the management and coordination of sanitary process system projects under the guidance of senior project management. This role is designed for a recent graduate with an educational background in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field, and provides hands-on exposure to process design, estimating, proposals, scheduling, and construction activities.

This position emphasizes learning and professional development while contributing to project execution. The Project Manager Level 1 develops foundational project management skills, a working understanding of sanitary process systems, and effective communication with customers, field personnel, and internal teams in a dynamic environment.

Industry Knowledge & Educational Foundation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a technical discipline relevant to design and/or construction.
  • Basic familiarity of piping systems, industrial equipment, and construction
  • Introductory knowledge of estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and change management concepts
  • Ability to define, document, and communicate project-related information clearly and professionally
  • Preferred knowledge of schematic drawings, equipment layouts, piping isometric drawings, and an aptitude for mechanical systems
  • Preferred knowledge of sanitary process piping systems and welding processes

Project Development, Design, Estimation and Preconstruction Duties

  • Support senior project managers in the development and coordination of sanitary process system projects
  • Assist with documenting customer requirements and project scope information
  • Collaborate with Engineering and CAD teams to develop project deliverables
  • Support proposal preparation, including:
    • Scope of work
    • Material, labor, subcontract costs
    • Project schedules
    • Associated drawings, charts, and calculations
  • Participate in pre-construction design coordination
  • Assist with material and equipment procurement
  • Assist in coordination with field supervisors to plan, organize, and schedule work crews to meet project timelines
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and customer regarding schedules, issues, and progress as directed
  • Support communication with Accounting for project costs and related progress billings

Technical Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn project management software such as Vista, Trimble Construction, Procore, or similar project management software
  • Basic familiarity with CAD software or technical drawings preferred

Skills/Competency Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to travel to remote job sites
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Open to feedback and committed to professional growth toward increased project responsibility
