Role Overview:

Are you ready to dive into the fast-paced world of management consulting? Avèro Advisors (www.averoadvisors.com) is seeking dynamic and eager interns for our in-person rotational Junior Consultant Program. This unique experience allows you to explore three functional areas of our business:

  • Project Delivery – supporting client-facing work and ERP modernization efforts.
  • Talent & Operations – assist with initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen operations, and fuel firm growth
  • Business Development – engaging in proposal development, market research, and relationship-building.

This program is designed to give you a well-rounded foundation in management consulting while helping you discover where your passions and strengths align.

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyze & Innovate: Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of government technology and innovation as you explore cutting-edge ERP solutions. Experience the excitement of organizational discovery sessions, where you’ll contribute to shaping strategic recommendations, functional system requirements, and more. You’ll also gain firsthand exposure to the fast-paced Business Development and Operations environments by engaging in the intricacies of crafting proposals and supporting the execution of key operational processes.
  • Collaborate & Learn: Experience the power of teamwork as you work alongside new and seasoned professionals across our departments. You’ll gain invaluable insights into the consulting business work, from the nuances of Business Development, the behind-the-scenes of Operations, to the complexities of Project Delivery.
  • Drive Operations: Support the internal functions that keep a growing consulting firm running. Contribute to process improvements, assist with HR and talent initiatives, and help streamline workflows that strengthen our culture and efficiency.

Cross-Functional Program Exposure:

  • Support Process Documentation: Contribute to creating comprehensive “As-Is” and “To-Be” business process model and notation documentation, including detailed workflow diagrams.
  • Aid in Project Planning: Assist in mapping requirements to a phased implementation schedule to ensure optimal software selection, configuration, implementation, and testing.
  • Analyze Business Processes: Conduct a preliminary analysis of existing business processes, operations, and organizational structures to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with Client Agencies: Shadow a Project Manager in giving advice, consultation, and technical assistance during project implementation while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Define Business Requirements: Work closely with client users to help define precise business requirements, resolve issues, and translate requirements into system design documents.
  • Coordinate with Vendors: Support the coordination of system design and implementation requirements with vendors.
  • Assess Business Opportunities: Participate in assessing business opportunities, defining problems, and proposing effective solutions for Business Development.
  • Evaluate Technologies: Assist in evaluating various software and hardware systems, identifying new technologies that enhance operations.
  • Collaborate with Departments: Work with various departments as part of the team, supporting efforts to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Produce Documentation: Help produce documentation, including business requirements and other necessary project documentation.
  • Create Design Documents: Assist in creating design documents for reviewed applications encompassing business requirements.
  • Support Development Team: Work with systems analysts and developers in developing functional specifications, test plans, and scripts.
  • Understand Business Operations: Gain an understanding of business operations, processes, procedures, and methods for analyzing and evaluating them.
  • Communicate Effectively: Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills when interacting with internal and external clients and vendors.

Who We Are Looking For?

  • Passionate & Driven: Excited about making an impact through consulting and technology
  • Adaptable & Curious: Eager to learn quickly, take on challenges, and grow from new experiences
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with new tools and technologies (familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT is a plus!)

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Management and Entrepreneurship, Public Policy and Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Able to work in-person at our Knoxville headquarters during Summer 2026.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess problems and propose solutions.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with peers, clients, and leadership.
  • Proven ability to follow through on commitments, take ownership of tasks, and “close the loop” with teammates and clients.
  • Tech-friendly and open to learning new tools (experience with AI tools like ChatGPT is a plus).
  • Willingness to be a self-starter and work on stand-alone projects with specific objectives as well as collaborating with the team.
