Job Title: School Aide
Location: Santa Barbara
Pay Rate: $18-$20/hour Based on experience
Availability: Flexible; open to all schedules
Job Summary:
The School Aide provides instructional and behavioral support to students under the supervision of special education staff, teachers, or designated personnel. Responsibilities may include academic assistance, classroom support, and personal care such as mobility, bathing, and toileting, as directed by healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with academic and behavioral needs
- Assist with personal care tasks (e.g., toileting, bathing, mobility)
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Follow directions from supervising staff and adhere to district protocols
- Provide substitute coverage for paraeducator absences
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation)
- Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
