Join this interactive session to learn more about leadership, recognizing pivotal moments that shape your life, how to handle expectations (from yourself and others), as well as learning more about the power of self-talk and the stories we believe about ourselves.Mabel Lajes-Guiteras ’99 has spent over 25 years in education with an unwavering focus on working with traditionally underserved communities. She believes that access to education and other opportunities is still a critical issue of concern in our country. As a first-generation college student of color, she is deeply committed to ensuring that all students have access to an excellent education. In her current role as Vice President on the Seed team at the Charter School Growth Fund, Mabel works to identify and support school leaders in the early stages of creating, expanding, or replicating high-performing schools. She leads the investment work stream that has resulted in over 50 million dollars in grants to schools in the last four years. Mabel holds a BA (Magna Cum Laude) with distinction in Psychology and Theater & Dance from Amherst College, a MA in Educational Theater and English Education from New York University, Principal Administrative Certification in school leadership from Boston University, an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Financial Management from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and is a Pahara Institute fellow.
