Latina Equal Pay Day has become an opportunity to change the narrative around pay equity

A Latina with a bachelor’s degree still earns significantly less than her Latino and white male counterparts with the same level of education. The median hourly wage for Latinas with a bachelor’s degree is about $28, compared with $34 for Latino men and $43 for white men. In response to these disparities, Justice for Migrant Women—an organization advocating for migrant and rural women’s right to live and work with dignity and without fear—is working to challenge persistent misconceptions about Latinas in the workforce and push for greater pay equity.
