Why the AAS Careers Database is an Invaluable Tool for Your Internship Search

Written by Riz Ayub ’27

The internship search and networking can be daunting experiences. Cold emailing, coming up with intelligent-sounding questions for people 20-30 years older than you, and guessing what a workplace is like from the website can all be quite intimidating.

However, this is where the Association of Amherst Students (AAS) Careers Database can come in to make your life easier! The Careers Database includes internship sites, reviews, and contact information from over 100 of your fellow Amherst students who are open to sharing their experiences.

Just like you, these Amherst students have been in your exact same position: scared and overwhelmed by the internship search. Networking with your fellow Amherst students via the Careers Database gives you firsthand knowledge of what it is like to be an intern in ways others might not.

The AAS Careers Database is not static but actively expanding; the AAS is soliciting new submissions for the database and will be adding all submissions received by March 22nd, 2026, at 11:59 PM to a raffle to win one of three Amazon gift cards!
