The article argues that colleges can advance equity by integrating transformative social and emotional learning (T-SEL) into experiential programs. It explains that T-SEL helps students—especially those from marginalized backgrounds—develop self-awareness, empathy, and collective action skills that connect education with social justice goals. The authors propose service-learning, project-based learning, and community partnerships as ways for students and educators to foster belonging, civic engagement, and systemic change in higher education
